Our Bike Tours and COVID-19: 24th Oct '21 Update.

Covid-19 and booking your bike tour with confidence..

For your peace of mind (and ours), we’re happy to say that our entire family has been vaccinated, so we’re covered, and ready to have a good time with our guests.

Although the Covid situation in France is greatly improved with high vaccination rates, low case numbers and a general "life back to normal" feeling, people may still be reluctant to organise overseas travel. So, in order to give you flexibility & peace of mind, we have put in place our no risk reservation policy, which allows you to book a future 2022 tour with us now, and with confidence.

  1. You can book now & pay later.

  2. Payment is due just 30 days prior to your tour date.

  3. Then, if you cannot travel, or do not feel comfortable travelling, on your planned dates due to Covid-19 and need to cancel, you can rest assured that we will refund any payments – no arguments!

We hope you find the above conditions reasonable; it must be said not many other tours are offering such good terms!

After a successful restart to our tours in Sept & Oct '21 - we are now looking to our 2022 dates - book now as the availabilities are moving fast.

Here’s a link to our 2022 tour dates https://www.provence-cycling-holidays.com/availabilities-2022.html.

Hope to see you soon...

Neil & Nat (Owners).

Covid situation in France and French Travel Requirements.

So, the great news is, that we were able to restart our tours in September & October of 2021. And they all ran smoothly, as life in France is pretty much back to normal.

Vaccination rates are high at 88% for 12 year olds and above. And case numbers are way down from the 51k peak, we are currently at 4k.
For your peace of mind (and ours), we’re happy to say that our entire family has been vaccinated, so we’re covered, and it's been great to have fun with our guests again.

Deconfinement is now total in mainland France; Restaurants can serve inside and on terraces, Museums, Markets & Shopping Centres are open, and the Curfew is over. Regarding masks, outside they are no longer required, but inside public spaces (ie supermarkets, shops etc) they are compulsory.

France has had a "Pass Sanitaire" or "Health Pass" in place since Aug '21, and it has worked very well, opening up restaurants, cafés, museums etc just as before. Some of our foreign guests were able to get the official pass, and it worked perfectly well for them. And even those that weren't able to get it (due to the backlog) they had no problems whatsoever - a quick flash of their local proof of vaccination worked every time!

Please see the link below to the French administration site that will guide you through the procedure to obtain the “Pass Sanitaire”.

Currently, to gain initial entry to France, you just need to show proof of vaccination, either a digital or paper based document from your own national Government.

You will also need to print off and sign a "Sworn Undertaking" statement (it's very simple) that states you have no symptoms of Covid-19 infection, and that to your knowledge you have not been in contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the 14 days prior to your journey. Please see the link below for the official French Government form to print off prior to travel.

So, we have detailed above the current local (French) conditions for entering France - it is sensible, however, to check the conditions with your own local national bodies regarding travel to and from France. Below we have listed links to several official Foreign national bodies regarding their own travel requirements to France.

Also, at the end of your stay, should you need a Covid-19 test to return home, we will be happy to book this is in for you. It's a very easy process. PCR tests are charged at a price of 49€.

And remember, you can make a new booking with confidence, with our no risk reservation policy. Knowing that if things should change, we would refund payments – no arguments!

We look forward to seeing our bikers in 2022 - Vive les holidays! Please do contact us if you have any questions.

Neil & Nat (Owners).

*Please note that the Chinese and Russian vaccines are not currently accepted for entry into the European Union.

Our Covid-19 bike tour measures.

Vaccination requirements.

We are confortable receiving our biker guests, as any international traveller entering France has to show evidence of their double vaccination.

Furthermore, and for your peace of mind (and ours), we’re happy to say that our entire family has been vaccinated, so again we’re covered, and ready for more tours in 2022.

Covid measures and our tours.

We are of course implementing all necessary Covid-19 measures to keep everybody as safe as possible. Something that is relatively easy given that we have lots of space at our properties and that we run relatively small group numbers, with no more than 8 guests at any one time at the B&B - and no more than 6 guests at the villa. These are not mass tours.

Measures at the B&B -

  • Hydroalcoholic gels and tissues in each room and at strategic points around the property, along with enhanced end of stay cleaning.
  • Additional daily cleaning measures at the property.

Measures at the Villa -

  • Hydroalcoholic gels and tissues in each room and at strategic points around the properties, along with enhanced end of stay cleaning.
  • All bike equipment sanitised at the beginning and end of your tour.

Also something to remember is that our guests spend the majority of their time out biking in their own small groups, made up of family and friends. The biking is also in a low density, rural setting, with the majority of the time being spent in open countryside and the small villages that we visit along the way. Areas, that to date, have been less impacted by Covid-19 than urban areas.

Our B&B based tours are on the edge of the small village of Coustellet, whereas our Villa based tours are in the small village of Taillades.

Another advantage that we have is that you can minimise risks by using the quieter, smaller, yet convenient transport hubs to get to our locations. Marignane/Marseille airport is a medium sized, relatively quiet airport (yet it has good links) and we have the Avignon high speed train station (TGV) - which are both just a 50 min car journey away.

If you have any questions regarding an existing booking or a future booking, please contact us.

Hope to see you in 2022 for some great cycling in Provence – Neil & Nat Cowell - (Owners).

Then 1 month prior to your tour start date we will send you a request for total payment (payable by Wise (previously known as TransferWise), PayPal - which incurs a 2% fee or a Bank Transfer).
We will also ask you separately for the payment for the 750€ refundable damage deposit (one per global booking) thats covers any damage to the entire property, grounds and pool along with bikes and any equipment. Once we received the damage deposit we will send you a receipt.

Payments can be made via:

by Wise - previously TransferWise - (usually the cheapest option) - A relatively new, really good option from the people that built Skype, that is usually cheaper than both PayPal and a Bank Transfer. Following is a link to Wise help center: https://goo.gl/W9VsYG

As with PayPal you first need to create an account. You then enter the € amount that the “Recipient Gets” (the amount we need to receive) and it will automatically show you how much “you’re sending”, the equivalent in your local currency.
You need to select to send the money to “someone else” (ie Natalene Cowell) and then key in our bank details (we will supply these). The final step is to decide which source of funds you want to use to pay for the transfer; Debit Card, Credit Card or Bank Transfer.
Your local currency to € Bank transfer (a fairly simple & secure process).
You instruct your bank to convert from your local currency to the € amount (at their € exchange rate).
Your bank then transfers € to our French € account. The cost of this service ranges between free of charge and approx 30 €.

We will send you an email invoice through PayPal for the € amount.
You are then directed to the PayPal secure site for payment.
You pay in your local currency by card & choose either your card Co's exchange rates or PayPal's for the conversion.

"Five of us had a fabulous time with Neil and Nat.
We stayed in their Villa, you do have the choice of the B&B but we were so happy with the Villa.
A 3 bedroom villa, fully stocked kitchen and a pool to cool off in. We weren't here at that time of year but one could only imagine how great it could be.
The options for cycling covers all levels of cycling from easy to hardest. We enjoyed the rides we choose and would say we are leisurely cyclists. Covered almost 200 kms over 5 days and no sore muscles. Saw beautiful villages, orchards galore and scenery to be enjoyed.
Neil and Nat's attention to detail is the best I have seen. They listen to what you want and try their best to accommodate. Made reservations at restaurants we thoroughly enjoyed.
A place to visit and accommodations I would give five stars plus two!!"
